Community Fund Drive

Danville Fair

The Annual Community Fund Drive raises funds for our local organizations as follows: Danville Chamber of Commerce, Pope Library, Historical Society, W. Danville Community Club, N. Danville Community Club, Village Improvement Society, N. Danville Library, and the Old Cemetery Committee.

What a great place to grow up, move to, and visit! People who know our little town and its deep history, realize it is a place where community involvement takes the forefront. By participating in this yearly drive, you are lending a hand to these eight organizations that help keep our community humming!

Our mailing went out November 11th, 2024 and should be reaching mailboxes shortly. You can send in your donation in the included envelope or now you can donate by card online!

Suggested membership support for each organization is $5, making it a total of $40. If you would like to send a check please make it payable to the Danville Chamber of Commerce and indicate which organization should receive the money and how much. The Chamber mailing address is PO Box 253, Danville, VT 05828.

Danville Chamber of Commerce

The Danville Chamber of Commerce is a small group of volunteers steeped in tradition. We work hard to produce two large events each year along with smaller, growing events to promote community gatherings with opportunities for Danville non-profit organizations to fund raise. As part of our mission, we provide additional financial support to these organizations when requested at our annual meeting in January. All our events are listed at danvillevtchamber.org and on Facebook. We are always planning the next event and encourage everyone to be involved through volunteering, donations, or with ideas and new resources.

Pope Memorial Library

Help make the Jewel on the Green sparkle! The Pope Memorial Library is a vital resource that provides information services and quality programming for all ages of the Danville community. We have a wide selection of popular books, periodicals, newspapers, audiobooks, and DVDs. We also have 3 public access computers and wi-fi. You can help maintain this beautiful historic building and library services by contributing to this annual campaign. We are grateful for every gift. Please stop in or visit us at popememoriallibrary.org, or email us at popememoriallibrary@yahoo.com

The Danville Historical Society

The Danville Historical Society is a non-profit educational organization committed to carrying out the ongoing mission of collecting, preserving, and protecting the history of Danville. The main office is
located at 121 Hill Street in the red 1838 cape-style house, beside the Congregational Church. We have a large collection of historical archives, including documents, photographs, and artifacts that depict
Danville’s interesting past. Our satellite location in the North Danville historical room celebrates the rich
history of the village’s inhabitants and their livelihoods. The Greenbanks Hollow site serves as a reminder of the homes and businesses once located in South Danville, and visitors can walk the nature trail which features markers that denote historical landmarks. For more information, visit our Facebook page and website at danvillevthistorical.org.

West Danville Community Club

With your help, the West Danville Community Club will continue to maintain Joe’s Pond Beach and the surrounding area. We provide lawn care, maintenance oversight of picnic tables and portable toilets, and provide litter pickup. Hundreds of folks visit this area to picnic, swim, and enjoy the outdoors. Hundreds more use this area of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail year round. Thanks for your continued support of our community efforts.

Danville Village Improvement Society

Since 1899 (the longest running improvement society in VT!) our society has had the dedication and commitment to maintain the beautiful environment of our village. The VIS actively manages the annual summer and fall flowers and holiday decorations around and on the village green. We welcome new folks who want to help with this work. All are welcome! We very much appreciate the support for these efforts as this is our main fundraiser for the year. Thank you!

Danville Old Cemeteries

Continuous efforts are being made to maintain the 11 old cemeteries which are scattered across Danville. Although some are full, we do have several historic locations still accepting applications for burial. Your financial contribution or volunteer time would be greatly appreciated to preserve the final resting places of the people who helped to build our beloved town.

The North Danville Community Club

The North Danville Community Club’s mission is to offer social, cultural, and educational events and activities that have always been part of the village traditions. The membership organizes the 4th of July celebration, the Holiday Memory Tree, Valentine and and May Day baskets, and youth Halloween and Christmas parties. The Club also supports the North Danville School Association in maintaining a historic, functional, and safe facility for the use and enjoyment of the entire community. The North Danville Community Club can continue to offer all this and more through the hard work of volunteers and donations. Thank you for your consideration. Please feel free to attend a Club meeting on the first Monday of the month at North Danville School to see what we’re all about! You can also find us at facebook.com/ndcommunityclub

North Danville Brainerd Memorial Library

The Brainerd Memorial Library is housed in the unique little village of North Danville. Associated with the Vermont Department of Libraries, we have an impressive collection of books. Your donation continues to be gratefully received. Wednesday evenings continue to be a highlight with a large cribbage group, knitting, crafts, and puzzles. Storytime and children’s program area offered! A cookbook club meets monthly. We continue to offer free public wi-fi. Please visit our website at brainerdmemoriallibraryvt.org and our Facebook page for a list of activities. Do visit us!
